Virtual Assessments

I chose to create a Quizlet, which I have used before but never created my own set so I wanted to play around with it and really see what it was like for myself. It creates a vocabulary list for students to study. It was very easy since you started typing a word and it offered suggestions and then when you clicked on the intended word it offered definitions and filled it in automatically. I have used this site before to play games and master vocabulary words/concepts.

I loved watching students get excited about Kahoot!ing during my observations this past semester. It wasn’t until this assignment that I realized how time consuming creating one really was. It is essentially like writing a test to get students excited and interacting with the material. I think that the format is a really cool tool to use in the classroom to either review with students or formatively assess their progress.

  1. Caleigh, your post is amazing and captures my attention immediately. Your photos of each assessment tool is a fantastic touch. I absolutely love Kahoot and Quizlet. I enjoy using Kahoot because I am competitive and so are my students. We use this tool a lot in our classroom for a study guide and for learning a new skill. Quizlet is the same. I use to love playing it in school because I would want to be the first to answer the question, depending on how the professor had the game set up. Quizlet is useful for studying and I love using the note cards. Your COVID-19 quizlet was awesome and very informative for anyone who takes it!!
